What does God want in your heart?
He wants our hearts in order to Exchange them
In exchange God offers us a heart that is clean, true, tender and warm. Notice he does not offer to patch up the old heart (2 Corinthians 5:17). If you have not done so, will you give Him your old heart and let Him give you His new one?
He wants to fill us with the same eternal, life-giving love that He and the Father share, a love from “before the foundation of the world” that will endure long after this world is gone (John 17:24; Ephesians 1:4; 1 Peter 1:20).
God Desires Us to Love Others
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. ' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Psalm 37:4 tells us that God grants us the desires of our hearts. That is true, but Philippians 2:13 tells us that God puts those desires in our hearts!
God wants to give you a purpose. He wants to bestow divine wisdom on you. It's not like God is holding out on you to make you miserable. He desires you to have a joyful, ambitious, purposeful life.
The most obvious answer to the question, “How can I know God's will for my life?” is to ask Him. Turn to God in prayer and ask Him what He wants you to do. God wants you to go through the process of seeking His will without believing the lie that He is trying to hide it from you.
Hebrews 11:6.
So, what dose God expect of us? God expects us to accept His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, as our Savior. He expects us to give our lives to Him, and in so doing, develop the character of Christ. God wants us to become more like Christ.
God's grand purpose for the world to come, then, is in the process of coming into being in the present through the redeeming and restoring work of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In Christ, and by the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, God is at work preparing a people to populate His new world.
How does God know the desires of your heart?
He Hears Your Prayers
Everything will happen in His timing. God knows what is best for you and He hears the desires of your heart. He will give you the desires of your heart when the time is right. Have patience and trust in the Lord.
Micah 6:8 is a clear, crisp, and simple summary of what God expects from you and me. These three things that matter so much to God are the three things God wants to see in us: justice, kindness, and humility. To act justly is to treat people fairly and respectfully.
Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

To love God with all of our hearts, we use our time, energy, talents and resources to keep His commandments. I invite you to reflect on how you use your time, energy, talents and resources. Are you using your time to learn what God's commandments are, so that you can keep them?
Salvation doesn't come from our good deeds or by doing anything special, it's a free gift from God just because He loves us so much. We need to turn away from our sins, believe that Jesus is God's Son and our Savior, and submit to Him as Lord of our lives. By doing so, we receive salvation and eternal life.
“The deepest desire of every human heart is to be known and to be loved,” Father Joe Campbell said in a Feast of St. Joseph the Worker homily Saturday. “This desire reaches its fullness in the desire to be known by God Himself.”
The Holy Spirit works to change the something, as he leads us with an intimate hand. The desires of the heart are not unchangeable. God never promises to give you what you want, to meet your felt needs and longings. He tells you to be ruled by other, different desires.

Confirmation from God
The clearest indication that it is time to step forward into a new chapter is confirmations and peace that come from the Lord. 1 Corinthians 14:33 reminds us that, “God is not a God of disorder but of peace.” Ask God to make it strikingly clear that moving forward into this chapter is of His Will.
So what gives God joy? First as Greg Boyle says, God's joy is grounded in the wonder of divine love for us. Just as a parent finds joy in their child because of the deep and abiding love they have for their child, so God loves us. And this love bond is something that can never be broken.

Ecclesiastes 2:26 American Standard Version (ASV)
For to the man that pleaseth him God giveth wisdom, and knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that pleaseth God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.
Therefore, don't believe in your heart; direct your heart to believe in God. Don't follow your heart; follow Jesus. Note that Jesus did not say to his disciples, “Let not your hearts be troubled, just believe in your hearts.” He said, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me” (John 14:1).
